Alpacalachin Farms invites you to participate in our 3rd Annual Harvest Festival, June 14th from 10am to 4pm. Come spend a day cleaning your own fleeces and preparing them for sale or mill processing. Meet others in the industry and have a good time sharing your farm stories and your favorite fiber arts. Promote your farm and the fiber your animals produce to visiting artisans and shoppers.

Alpacalachin Farms will provide a large 20x30 tent for the first 11 participants requesting main tent space. You will only need to provide your own skirting and/or display table and chairs. All participants opting to be under the main tent area will be provided with an approximate 6x6 area. Anyone wishing to bring their own tent will be allowed a maximum space of 10x10. The main tent will also have open community space available for a small artisan set up (equipment and chairs are not provided).

Lunch will be available for reasonable prices from 11-2pm for all participants and visitors alike.

Advertisement will include direct mailings to artisans and interested parties (printed copies of all advertisements will be distributed to participants upon request for distribution in their area), newspaper advertisement in and around the Broome County viewing audience, as well as public announcements to TV, Radio, and Newspaper audiences.

All participants will be able to include their farm products in the “Farm Store”, a 20x10 tented outdoor area, supervised, and staffed by Alpacalachin Farms. All sales must go through the “Farm Store”. Participants must submit an inventory price list by June 10th and items will be checked in upon arrival, between 8-9 am the morning of the event.

All participants may clean their fleeces, spin, knit, weave, crochet, felt, etc..., while making personal contacts with visitors. All fleeces brought to this event must be available for sale to visiting artisans. All fleeces must be listed on your inventory list—weights of raw fleeces must be included and desired price for raw fleece, rovings, batts, yarn, and felted batts must be included (all participants will be given an updated price list from the mills along with the turn around times for processing by June 4th). All fleeces will be given a lot # and will be marked “sold” as they are purchased. If you have any recommendations of mills for small batch processing, I welcome your input and would be willing to research their pricing, quality and timing.

Alpacalachin Farms will be responsible for collecting deposits on behalf of participants, sending sold fleeces to mills for desired processing, distributing processed fleeces to new owners, and collecting balances based on finished weights less the deposit paid. All proceeds less processing costs will be paid to participants at finalization of payment by purchaser.
